Smokey Eyes
Bold and sexy - Smokey Eyes are statement make-up! David Walker-Smith, Beauty Director at Selfridges, says that "today all women believe they could look amazing if only they knew how" so here is my smokey eye knowledge for you!
1. Apply a base of long stay cream shadow over the top lid up to and slightly beyond the crease. Pick a neutral shade or one the works well with the colour you want to achieve. A smoky eye is dark but doesn’t have to be black.
Try Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place ShadowCreme.
2. Apply eye pencil or kohl thickly along top and bottom lids as close to the lashes as possible.
Try Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes or Urban Decay 24/7 Eyepencil. These both have great staying power.
3. Work a dark powder shadow over the eyeliner and up to the crease on the upper lid. Make sure you don’t extend the dark shade beyond the crease.
4. Take a slightly lighter shade of powder shadow and blend it along the crease on the upper lid, overlapping with the dark shadow, and over the eyeliner on the bottom lashes to create the "smoke".
Try MAC Tapered Blending Brush No.224 and Estee Lauder's Signature Eyeshadow Quads for great colour choice and blending.
5. Finish with several coats of black volumising mascara.
Try Dior's DiorShow Mascara.
6. Complete the look with nude lips and a light sweep of bronzer.
Try Guerlain KissKiss in Envie de Beige or MAC's Blankety for a pinky nude lip.
...now let your eyes do the talking!
